Our Story

What does Taiga mean?

"Taiga" is originated from the Taiga biome or the boreal forest located in the Northern parts of Canada.

We chose our kennel name Taiga to represent our adventurous lifestyle and our love for hiking!

Some extremely important family members of ours live in the Yukon where the Taiga biome is extremely prominent, therefore we found a perfect blend of adventure and family in the name!

Our Philosophy

As a small hobby kennel, our dogs are born and raised in our home. Our puppies grow up with many different stimuli to get puppies used to the big wide world.

Puppies are always health checked before going home, they go to their forever homes up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, CKC Registered, and with a genetic health guarantee for 5 years.

All our dogs are registered with CKC and tested by OFA with Hip and elbow clearances, along with eye clearances with CERF, and genetic panel tested with embark. Our breeding matches are selected meticulously to ensure great breeding is the only outcome.

All our dogs are working dogs, competing and training in a combination Agility, Disc dog, trick training, lure coursing, dock diving, herding and obedience!

Along with being great competitors, our dogs are apart of our family and enjoy lots of cuddles, time curled up on the couch with us and of course lots of adventure!

Our puppies are carefully placed into selected homes only, and all puppy inquiries must fill out a puppy questionairre before hand.
